Stock Sires used at Anhay
The breeding programme of the herd can only progress with the selection of the correct stock bull. Great care is taken to source bulls with good conformation, impeccable pedigrees and from milky, easy calving strains.

ANHAY PETREL 333
Petrel has been used extensively on the dairy herd, serving approx. cows and heifers before his 2nd birthday. Because of his size and conformation we decided to try him on some pedigree Hereford cows this Spring.
LISRACE LOYALIST V
It was quite an exciting time, traveling to Northern Ireland to choose and secure this very impressive young bull at the Dungannon Sale. It took nigh on 6 weeks for him to get through the tests and finally arrive on Cornish soil.
He is quite the 'celebrity' after all the publicity surrounding the sale and many have come to view him.
He is now one very happy and proud lad, to be out with his new harem. We are impatient to see his first crop of calves.
LISRACE LUMBERJACK
Our new acquasition is Lisrace Lumberjack. He was born in Sept 2011and is well grown with a good cover. An impressive young man!
BADLINGHAM BADGER 3rd
Badger has consistently bred well at theBarbern Herd in Preston, Lancashire and we thank Bernard and Barbara Rimmer for allowing us to purchase him. All being well he will be used on the majority of our herd which are cows sired by Wenlock Jeeves. He is just what we were looking for with good size, excellent conformation and a wonderful temperament - so quiet in fact that our 10 year old grand daughter led him from the box to the field upon his arrival here at Anhay.
We now have some very smart calves from Badger.
This bull's pedigree brings back into the herd - 2x Blossoms lines, Clipston Krespian, 2x Standard Lad 93J and SNS Generator. Thus consolidating our breeding program.

BROADFIELD CONKER
Purchased at the Spring 2008 Hereford Bull Show and Sale he weighed 862 kg at just under 2 years of age. A lovely dark bull with a really good width of hind quarter. He is a well fleshed bull and has been used predominantly on Wenlock Jeeves daughters.
His calves are quite exciting.
Fondly Remembered Boys of Bygone Days
Bred by the very knowledgeable breeder, and subsequently great friend and mentor Mr Geoff Thomas of Weston & Merryhill fame. The Temple herd was noted to have large, quality cattle. A great bull to build the foundation blocks of the herd upon.
BADLINGHAM BROAD LAD
Born in 1984 and bred at Badlingham, this was a tremendous bull both in the show ring where he won 14 Breed and Inter-breed Championships, & also in the quality of his daughters which milked so well. Here I must express our appreciation to Mr Colin Clarke, manager at Badlingham, who has become a great friend and been so generous with his advice over the years. EBV Terminal index +24 & self replacing index 27.

Bred by Mr Richard Milner. We now have 4 Plum grand-daughters in the herd from this bull- producing big, strong cattle.
Another super bull from Badlingham. Blyth bred well for us, leaving cows with good conformation and milking ability & consolidated the Badlingham breeding . A daughter - A. Morello M11 winning many prizes. Son - A. Winston was used here with much success.
This bull brought 93J back into the breeding again.
ONGUTEIN JERRY
Reserve Bull Of The Year 1994. A trait leader for 200 and 400 day growth with high EBVs of Terminal index +33 & self replacing index +42 TOP 1% and a supper temperament.
WENLOCK JEEVES
Jeeves, the last Wenlock bull to be bred by Mr R Milner, and recommended to us by Mr C Clarke, has contributed a great deal to the herd. Consolidating the Badlingham breeding again. His daughters (making up 90% of the herd,) are good milkers, strong & 'like peas in a pod' and his sons are impressive with good growth rates, masculine and beefy.
A half share sold to Mr Merton in Wales.

The above bulls have impressed their characteristics and disposition on the herd and have been interspersed with their 'best of the rear' sons to strengthen the depth of breeding within the herd.

ANHAY DIABLO 136
Diablo weighed 1200kg at 5 years of age.
ANHAY MANHAY 172
Manhay has a beautiful disposition and proved extremely easy to calve from; so was used on the heifers for several seasons before regrettably selling him on.
